Nico holds an MSc in International Fisheries Management from the University of Tromsø, Norway, with certifications in Circular Economy, Value Chain Development, and Accounting. With over 25 years of cross-sector sustainable development experience, he has held senior roles at UNOPS, UNDP, UNIDO, and FAO and consulted for organizations such as EIF, the EU, GiZ, the World Bank, and UNICEF. He is currently part of an EU Technical Assistance team assessing Namibia’s legal and institutional capacities for Green Hydrogen sector development and serves as Regional Technical Advisor for The Nature Conservancy on sustainable ocean finance in Angola, Namibia, and South Africa. He has co-chaired the ICES global working group on Large Marine Ecosystems and served on corporate boards in fishing, manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals. Nico is also the Country Chapter Lead for the African Circular Economy Network (ACEN).
